Lesson 5 of 8
Lesson 5 opens the Intermediate tier -- but deliberately not with "conjuncts" the way Hindi/Bengali/Telugu's Lesson 5 works. As Lesson 1 already noted, Tamil's native alphabet has no separate voiced/aspirated consonant letters and doesn't build Sanskrit-style stacked conjuncts the same way. What Tamil typing genuinely drills at this stage is the ் pulli joining two consonants into a cluster within a native word, plus the grantha letters (ஜ ஷ ஸ ஹ) borrowed for Sanskrit/loan vocabulary.
You'll type real, common words: கஷ்டம் (kaṣṭam, "difficulty" -- ஷ் grantha + cluster), பள்ளி (paḷḷi, "school" -- ள் cluster), கல்வி (kalvi, "education" -- ல்வி cluster), ஸ்தானம் (sthāṉam, "position/place" -- ஸ் grantha), நிலை (nilai, "state/condition"), and வேலை (vēlai, "work").
