Lesson 14 opens the Intermediate tier with conjuncts (যুক্তাক্ষর) -- two or more consonants joined by the ্ hasant you already learned as a key in Lesson 1, with no vowel sound between them.

You'll type ten real, common words built around frequent conjuncts: রাষ্ট্র (rashtra, "nation"), কার্য (karya, "work"), প্রশ্ন (prashna, "question"), পত্র (patra, "letter"), স্তর (star, "level"), সংস্থা (sanstha, "institution"), বিদ্যা (vidya, "knowledge/learning"), জ্ঞান (gyan, "knowledge"), সত্য (satya, "truth"), and ক্ষমা (kshama, "forgiveness").
