Lesson 14 opens the Intermediate tier with conjuncts (संयुक्ताक्षर) -- two or more consonants joined by the halant (्) you already learned as a key in Lesson 1, with no vowel sound between them. This is genuinely the hardest part of Devanagari typing for most beginners, and it's not a new key to learn -- it's a new way of combining keys you already know.

You'll type ten real, common words built around frequent conjuncts: राष्ट्र (rāṣṭra, "nation" -- ष्ट्र), कार्य (kārya, "work" -- र्य), प्रश्न (praśna, "question" -- प्र and श्न), अध्ययन (adhyayan, "study" -- ध्य), पत्र (patra, "letter" -- त्र), स्तर (star, "level" -- स्त), संस्था (sansthā, "institution" -- स्थ), त्रुटि (truṭi, "error/mistake" -- त्रु), ज्ञान (gyān, "knowledge" -- ज्ञ), and क्षमा (kṣamā, "forgiveness" -- क्ष). Several of these -- त्रुटि, प्रश्न, परीक्षा-adjacent words like स्तर and संस्था -- are exactly the register you'll see in real exam passages, not arbitrary drill text.
