Lesson 14 of 17
Lesson 14 opens the Intermediate tier with conjuncts -- two or more consonants joined by the ్ virama you already learned as a key in Lesson 1, with no vowel sound between them. Telugu keeps a full voiced-consonant series and Sanskrit-derived conjuncts, much like Hindi and Bengali.
You'll type ten real, common words: రాష్ట్ర (rāṣṭra, "state/nation"), కార్య (kārya, "work"), ప్రశ్న (praśna, "question"), పత్ర (patra, "letter"), స్థాయి (sthāyi, "level"), సంస్థ (samstha, "institution"), విద్య (vidya, "education"), జ్ఞానం (jñānam, "knowledge"), క్షమ (kṣama, "forgiveness"), and సత్యం (satyam, "truth").
